چکیده

T HERE HAS BEEN increasing acceptance of the concept that small lymphocytes can transform both in vitro and in vivo into larger cells capable of division.19 Repeated observation have shown that an increase in basophilic cytoplasm is an essential aspect of this transformation. Furthermore, electron microscopic studies of small lymphocytes growing in tissue culture have shown increase in ribosomal content in the transformed small lymphocytes.#{176} These observations suggested the present study of RNA synthesis during the transformation of small lymphocytes in tissue culture.

The Role of Human Adult Peripheral and Umbilical Cord Blood Platelet-Rich Plasma on Proliferation and Migration of Human Skin Fibroblasts

BACKGROUND Wound healing is a complex and dynamic process following damage in tissue structures. Due to extensive skin damage caused by burn injuries, this study determined the role of human adult peripheral and umbilical cord blood platelet-rich plasma on proliferation and migration in human skin fibroblasts. METHODS Platelet-rich plasma (5, 10, 15, 20 and 50% PRP) from human umbilica...

The effect of salicylate on the metabolism of normal and stimulated human lymphocytes in vitro.

The effect of salicylate on the metabolism of peripheral blood lymphocytes in tissue culture was investigated. Lymphocytes incubated with sodium salicylate at a concentration of 30 mg/100 ml showed increased glucose consumption, lactic acid production, and oxygen consumption, evidence for uncoupling of oxidative phosphorylation. No decrease in cell number or viability (trypan blue dye exclusion...

Hemoglobin synthesis in human BFU-E and CFU-E-derived erythroid colonies.

We have analyzed the synthesis of fetal hemoglobin (HbF) in the differentiated erythroid colonies produced by erythropoietin-responsive committed erythroid progenitors in plasma cultures of human marrow and peripheral blood. Two independent biochemical techniques. carboxymethyl-cellulose column chromatography of 3H-leucine-Iabeled globin. and polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis of 59Fe-labeled h...

An assay for the mitogenic activity of phytohemagglutinin preparations.

By Douci &ss C. TORMEY AND GERALD C. MUELLER T HE ADDITION of phytohemagglutinin, an extract of the kidney bean Phaseolus vulgaris, to cultures of human peripheral lymphocytes promotes the synthesis of v-globulin, ribonucleic acid (RNA), and desoxyribonucleic acid (DNA), and induces mitosis in a large fraction of lymphocytes.1’7 The present communication describes an assay in which the graded i...

Construction of a human recombinant polyclonal Fab fragment antibody library using peripheral blood lymphocytes of snake bitten victims

Human snake bitten poisoning is a serious threat in many tropical and subtropical countries such as Iran. The best acceptable treatment of envenomated humans is antivenoms; however they have a series of economic and medical problems and need more improvements. In this study a combinatorial human immunoglobulin gene library against some of Iranian snakes venoms was constructed. Total RNA prepare...
